Earth&Co is proud to announce a landmark collaboration with the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) for the launch of the BBK Sustainability Academy—a pioneering program designed to build sustainability capabilities across the entire BBK Group, including overseas branches and subsidiaries.
The Academy officially launched with a series of in-person training sessions delivered by Earth&Co, introducing participants to global sustainability trends, ESG risks and opportunities, and the rapidly evolving expectations shaping the financial sector. The launch event was opened by BBK’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yasser Al Sharifi, who welcomed the initiative and emphasized its importance as a key strategic priority for the Bank.
Throughout the year, the program will expand to include a series of specialized modules, practical workshops, applied projects, and continuous learning touchpoints.
A key feature of the Academy is its custom-designed curricula, tailored to the needs of different departments across BBK. Dedicated learning tracks are being developed for teams in:
- Marketing & Communications – integrating sustainability into brand storytelling and stakeholder engagement
- Procurement – advancing sustainable sourcing and supplier assessment practices
- Treasury & Investments – exploring innovative ESG financial products and sustainability-linked instruments
- Risk Management – identifying, evaluating, and integrating ESG and climate-related risks
- Compliance – aligning internal systems with emerging ESG policies, reporting requirements, and regulatory developments
- Operations, HR, and other support functions – embedding sustainability across everyday processes and organizational culture
Through this holistic structure, the Academy will deepen organizational alignment, enhance ESG capabilities, and support BBK in building a resilient, future-fit institution equipped to navigate the shift toward sustainable finance.
